I Am a Falcon Shirt. We would love to see students wearing their I Am a Falcon shirt on the first day of school. One of our amazing teachers, Mrs. Dault had the beautiful idea of capturing all the students in their shirts using the drone all together in the field or somewhere. No pressure though.
If your child(ren) cannot have their photograph taken we would make sure to honor their/your privacy.

Salem Food Service Updates for the 2022-2020 School Year.
With the start of the school year just days away, we wanted to share an update with important changes to Salem’s food service program for the 2022-2023 school year.
- During the 2022-2023 school year, families will have to pay for school meals unless they qualify for free or reduced price meals based on income eligibility guidelines set by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). As we have done in the past, we are encouraging all eligible families to complete the free and reduced price meal application; applications do not roll over from year to year so they have to be filled out every school year. The application was part of the online registration process but if you did not complete it at that time you can still access the application through Family Access by Skyward. We have created a video that walks through the free and reduced price meal application process step-by-step.
While there will be a single breakfast option served daily, we are adding back additional lunch options similar to how we operated in the past. The lunch menus and lunch options will vary depending on the grade of your student (see the breakdown by grade below). Full menus for the entire month can be found on our website under Parent Resources > Lunch Program Information. Our new website also has a dedicated dining page to show the breakfast and lunch (Option 1) meals for the current week and the next week; you can toggle between weeks using the drop-down menu in the upper right hand corner on the dining page.
Students in Grades K-3
Option 1 - Meal shown on calendar
Option 2 - Cold entree shown to the right of the calendar
Students in Grades 4-8
Option 1 - Meal shown on calendar
Option 2 - Daily hot entree shown to the right of calendar
Always Available - Cold entrees shown to the right of the calendar
Lastly, we ask for your patience as we resume our food service operations. Due to national supply chain disruptions and shortages, we may have to make changes to our menus with little to no notice. Additionally, while we will try our best to make sure we have sufficient options during each lunch period, during the first few weeks of school we may run out of certain options during the later lunch periods until we get a better sense of breakfast and lunch participation numbers. We apologize in advance and thank you for your understanding.
